Operations

Alacer Gold operates the world-class Çöpler Gold Mine in eastern Turkey that produced 168,163 ounces of gold during 2017. Çöpler has substantial Proven and Probable Reserves of almost 4 million contained ounces and Measured and Indicated Resources of almost 6 million ounces of contained gold, which provide the foundation for Çöpler’s 20 year mine life.

Çöpler is an epithermal gold deposit in central eastern Turkey, approximately 550km east of Ankara and 120km southwest of the city of Erzincan. The nearest population center is the town of ĺliҫ, which is 6km northeast of Çöpler.

The Çöpler Gold Mine has been successfully operating since 2010, processing oxide ore via a heap leach operation. The oxide ore is progressively being exhausted and the mine will start processing sulfide ore in the third quarter of 2018 using pressure oxidation, commonly referred to as "POX".  In 2018, Çöpler is forecast to produce 70,000 to 90,000 ounces of oxide ore and 50,000 to 100,000 ounces of sulfide ore at All-in Sustaining Costs of $750 to $800 per ounce for the oxides only. Costs and revenues associated with the initial sulfide operations will be capitalized to the construction costs until commercial production is achieved. Commercial production will be achieved when the plant is operating sustainably without interruptions. For further information on the Sulfide Project, please see the Press Release titled " Alacer Gold Announces Çöpler Sulfide Project Approval", issued on May 12, 2016.
