Country Manager - Australian Business Unit

Martin has over 18 years experience in the mining industry after completing his studies in Mechanical Engineering in 1991. His career history aligns itself to management appointments in both maintenance and projects roles prior to progressing to treatment plant manager and general manager appointments. Martin’s former appointment was that of General Manager of the Higginsville Gold Operations and previous to that as Resident Manager for Norilsk Nickel’s Black Swan Nickel near Kalgoorlie. Prior appointments included Engineering Manager for Lion Ore Australia at Black Swan Nickel after nearly twenty years of service with his previous employer, a large mining house in South Africa where he commenced his career and studies.

General Manager - Higginsville Gold Operations

Ian has over 20 years of experience in the mining industry after graduating as a Mining Engineer from the WA School of Mines in 1984, most of his time has been in operational roles in the Eastern Goldfields with KCGM and Newcrest at both open pit and underground operations, including seven years as Operations Manager. Post this operational experience Ian was the Group Mining Engineer for over two years for Newcrest Mining during early stages of their development of major new underground and open pit gold/copper projects, at Cadia, Ridgeway, Wandoo and Telfer.

General Manager – South Kalgoorlie Operations

Jim has over 15 years of experience in the mining industry after graduating from the Camborne School of Mines in 1995. His mining career has been primarily in Western Australia, particularly working in the Eastern Goldfields. He started his career in the field of rock mechanics and was involved in seismically active underground mines at the Gold Fields Kundana Mine and the St Ives Junction Mine in the WA Eastern Goldfields. He then moved into a senior technical services roll at LionOre’s Black Swan Mine, Barrick Kanowna Belle and Avoca’s Higginsville Mine. Jim began working at Higginsville in the early stages of development and led the team that took the mine plan from concept through to production of +1Mtpa. In 2011 Jim became the Senior Project Manager for the South Kalgoorlie Expansion Project (SKOEP) until his recent appointment to General Manager.

Calvin McKee

Country Manager - Turkish Business Unit

Mr McKee graduated from Pennsylvania State University in Geological Science and has 40 years experience in the mining industry, having worked in exploration, mine development and mine operation. He has been the General Manager of four mines, including Newmont’s Muruntau operation in Uzbekistan and was General Manager and COO for Jinshan Gold during construction and operation of the 217 mine in Inner Mongolia, China. He has held senior level operational and management positions while developing and operating mines in the western U.S., Australia, Chile, Uzbekistan, and China. His experience covers exploration and mining of precious metals, base metals, and platinum group minerals.

General Manager – Çöpler Gold Mine

Mr Le Roux has 28 years of international experience within the mining industry in various roles, having worked in engineering, mine development and mine operations, and has been very influencial in mine safety. He has worked in operations for coal, base metals, and precious metal. Mr. Le Roux was General Manager of the Kişladağ Mine in Turkey; Vice President of Operations for Kumtor Operating Company in Krygzstan where he led a major operational expansion; and Vice President of Operations of Boroo Gold Mine in Mongolia, where he was instrumental in significant operational improvement. He has also held senior level management positions in the construction and development of mining operations in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and South Africa.
